Ask any executive what their company does and you get an org chart.
Ask AI and you get three things. Expert knowledge, the stuff you’d teach in a textbook if it existed. Tribal knowledge, the fuzzy grey details that live in people’s heads. And the hardware and software that stitches them together.
Everything else is scaffolding. AI doesn’t need the scaffolding. It needs the knowledge. Most companies, when they go looking for it, discover they have far less of it documented than they assumed.
